Geiger Automotive, the world's leading auto supplier, announced that it has selected Ravago's recycled Mafill CR HT 5344H material for the manufacture of cooling air intake components for the BMW X3.

　　Mafill CR HT 5344H is Ravago's first globally harmonized recycled polypropylene (PP) product that delivers the same quality whether it is produced in Europe or in the United States.

　　Keg Motors uses Ravago's recycled PP grade material MafillCRHT5344H to produce automotive air intakes, a thin-walled part used in automotive heat dissipation to cool the car's engine by directing air.

　　The project began with the use of recycled materials to ensure cost efficiency and sustainable automotive industry. Therefore, Keg chose Ravago's existing talc-filled heat-stable Mafill CR HT 5344H grade material.

　　According to Linus Winkler, Director of Supply Chain Management at Kegel Automotive, “Resinex, a subsidiary of the Ravago Group, has launched composite materials made in Europe for many years and has been using it in various applications in Germany. We have extensive experience in processing and service characteristics. Internal tests have shown that batches of recycled PP materials produced using European and US raw materials are identical in quality, so there is no need to change machine parameters to change the supply. These results led us to decide to use this material and this material will be reconfigured. In our US manufacturing business."

　　It is understood that Mafill CR HT 5344H is one of Ravago's recycled PP grades, which is suitable for demanding technical applications and has a cost-effective advantage. The product range includes unfilled, natural, tinted, black, clay and green grades, filled with talc or calcium carbonate and/or reinforced with glass fibers, elastomer modified, UV and heat resistant, and custom made.

　　Typical automotive applications include wheel arch lining, air filter housings, front end mounting, air ducts and containers.
